Xinyi Wan, a seasoned machine learning researcher and systems engineer, has joined AMI Labs as a Member of Research Staff, bringing with him over a decade of experience at the intersection of large-scale infrastructure and applied artificial intelligence. Based in Singapore, Wan steps into the role following an extensive career spanning leading global technology companies and high-growth AI teams, where he built a reputation for translating cutting-edge research into production-ready systems.

Wan began his career with a strong academic foundation at Zhejiang University, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science. Early in his trajectory, he gained hands-on experience in distributed systems and scalability through internships at Baidu and Google, working on database optimization and infrastructure challenges. He later joined Google full-time, contributing to large-scale ad-serving systems—an environment that honed his expertise in deploying machine learning at massive scale.

His career evolved toward more research-driven applications of AI during his time at FABU.ai, where he led system development for autonomous driving technologies. There, Wan worked on integrating machine learning models into real-time decision-making systems, bridging the gap between algorithmic innovation and real-world deployment. He continued this trajectory at Sea, where he held multiple senior roles, including Senior Expert Engineer and engineering lead within Sea AI Lab (SAIL). At Sea, he focused on building and scaling AI systems across consumer platforms, while also leading teams at the forefront of applied AI research.

Widely recognized for his ability to combine deep technical expertise with practical execution, Wan’s work spans machine learning systems, distributed architectures, and production AI. His move to AMI Labs signals the company’s continued investment in talent capable of shaping the next generation of intelligent systems.
