Artem Zholus is a Member of Technical Staff at AMI Labs and a Graduate Student Researcher at Mila, where his work focuses on machine learning, reinforcement learning, and world models for robotics. He is also pursuing a PhD in machine learning at Polytechnique Montréal.
Before joining AMI Labs, Artem was a Visiting Researcher at Meta, where he was a core contributor to V-JEPA 2 and helped build its robotic post-trained world model. At Google DeepMind, he first-authored the TAPNext paper, co-authored TRecViT, and helped improve and deploy a computer-vision model in Google’s Solar API. His earlier research experience includes work at EPFL and nearly four years at Insilico Medicine, where he developed reinforcement-learning algorithms and deep-learning infrastructure for an AI-driven drug-discovery platform.
Artem holds a master’s degree in artificial intelligence from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from ITMO University. His background combines foundational AI research with experience developing and deploying learning systems across robotics, computer vision, and computational drug discovery.
