Haoyi Li is a Member of Technical Staff at AMI Labs in Singapore, where he brings deep expertise in software engineering, distributed systems and developer tooling. He is also the author of Hands-on Scala Programming.
Before joining AMI Labs, Li spent nearly seven years as a Staff Software Engineer at Databricks. He architected distributed continuous-integration and cloud-development systems operating across tens of thousands of CPUs and Kubernetes pods, accelerated core engineering workflows by as much as tenfold, and led a globally distributed team. He also developed a high-performance configuration language and introduced engineering practices including JVM profiling, structured error logging and automated code formatting.
Earlier, Li worked at Dropbox, where he built static-analysis and testing tools, improved development speed and reliability, and helped operate a continuous-integration system comprising more than 3,000 machines. He began his career with internships at Dropbox and Facebook and earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
